Steak Sandwiches

This was a spur of the moment creation based upon the always present question: "what can we make from what's left in the fridge?"  But they turned out fantastic!

Here's what you need:

A pound or two of steak bits
Sliced Bread
Sliced Cheese
Shredded Mozzarella
Chopped Onion

Here's what you do:

Saute the onion until they start to be translucent.  Then add the steak and cook thoroughly.  While you're waiting on that, you should toast your bread slices..

Take the steak and onions out of the pan, and pour the juices into a little cup.  {hubby likes to dip his sandwich in that}

Then you put a piece of bread, a slice of cheese, a spoonful of steak and onion, and a heap of  mozzarella... like this:

and then squash it down with another piece of bread and cook it like you do a grilled cheese sandwich.

It gets super gooey and cheesy and yummy!

Enjoy!

The Army's Got Boats!

That's right folks!  Who would've thought, right?

 Well, until I went through my Transportation Officer course, I had no idea either!  And now, I get to spend every day working for one of the most unique and important transportation units in the entire Army!  Whoot Whoot!

This summer we are continuing our work with a humanitarian mission in Alaska.  Just wanted to share with you some pictures of our vessel all loaded up with the equipment we are taking up there to help a village be relocated.

{click to zoom!}

That's a lot of stuff, right?!  Lets see.. a few forklifts, a bulldozer..  a few containers..
I think the boat is under there somewhere!

{click to zoom!}

This type of vessel is called a Landing Craft Utility 2000 or "LCU 2000."
This particular one is called the LCU 2025 Malvern Hill.  It's the 25th of the series.
And my soldiers are rockin' it out all the way to Alaska!

Chicken and Biscuits

Hey there!  This one is super delicious and sooo easy!

Here's what you need:

about a pound of chicken
Some frozen biscuits
A can of Cream of Chicken soup
Half a can of milk

Here's what you do:

Cook the Biscuits.

Cook the Chicken.

Cook the soup, but only add half a can of milk instead of the full amount. That way it's like gravy instead of soup.. {so yummy!}

Then cut up the chicken and add the soup to it.
 {I like to use the same pan that I cooked the chicken in, 'cause when you stir it the crispy bits from the chicken get mixed in ;) }

Then drizzle it over those delicious biscuits that you made!

Enjoy!

Lazy Summer Nights

Ok ya'll.. when I thought of how I'd be blogging this summer..
this is not how I imagined it.

I don't know if you've noticed..
but my blog has been somewhat neglected by a certain someone
{ahem..}

I thought that the summertime would be like the clouds clearing and loud angelic voices ringing and loads and loads of homey-home-maker inspiration comin' my way!

Well, turns out, it has been pretty sunny here in Washington {a serious rarity}, and the only time to enjoy it is the few short hours after a long day at work {I still gatta work during the day, so no luck on the sunshine and rainbows gig then} lol..

So, hubby and I have been enjoying lazy summer activities around the house..
like our new fire pit!

{which is really fantastic to sit and read a book after a long day of work!}

And making our favorite childhood meals
{which are super easy to make!}

All this soakin' up the sunshine after work really cuts into my normal bloggy time, but that's alright, I'll get you caught up with me!

So, all the pictures I've been saving up the past few weeks are all going to be turned into beautiful bloggy posts for you to all enjoy!
{whoot whoot!}

Enjoy!

Swagger Wagon

Hey ya'll!  I just had to share this video!  I've been feelin' a bit under the weather today, and this made me bust out laughing!

Hello Summer!

What a beautiful weekend!  This marked the beginning of camping season for Hubby and I!  We packed up the car and the dog and headed off to Deception Pass State Park.  It was so relaxing and peaceful, I wish we could have stayed for a week.

We also managed to find the world's largest ice cream cones!

Enjoy!

My Apologies Friends...

You ever have those nights where you get home and you're just... blah?

Yep, that's been me.  For a week.  Work is just suckin' the life outta me lately ya'll!  I haven't posted in forever, and just wanted let you all know that life has just been so crazy, that i've not really had a chance to do anything!

I'm bout halfway through remaking a cabinet for the laundry room.. and have no idea when i'll get that finished..

And I still need to paint said laundry room before hanging said cabinet..

AND I leave for my long trip to Alaska in just a couple short weeks!  yikes!

I'll work on getting some more stuff up here soon!

4 Bloggy Tidbits

Hellooo out there bloggy land!

Who are you again?  Have you been here before?  Well, today is your lucky day anonymous bloggy stalker!  I've got four little hints for you:

1.  I love comments.  It's true.  A narcissist at heart {and what blogger isn't at least a tinsy bit?}  I love knowing that you loved {or didn't love} what I've been writing about!  And besides, we all know that I don't know everything, so what you have to say could really help me out!  You are always welcome to add to the conversation.

2.  I delete spam.  My love for comments aside, I really dislike getting my blog all gunked up with irrelevant nonsense.  So, if you're just leavin' a link to your Viagra factory website, move along!

3.  Relevant links are encouraged.  Have you blogged or found a site about the very topic or project that I just talked about?  Share it honey!  I love getting new ideas and seeing how other people tackled the same things.  Sharing is caring sweetie!

4.  Become a follower.  Did you know that i've got over one hundred people pokin' around at this blog each day?  Sweet, right?  Hmmm... only ten {amazing!} followers though...  I wonder what that could mean.  Is it becuase I smell?  Here's the deal ya'll, I love sharing my crazy projects, yummy recipes, and quirky tidbits with you.  And I would love to know who I'm sharing them with.  Besides, once we get the numbers up, I am going to start doing giveaways.  And who doesn't love free stuff?

Okay, okay I'm going to get off the soapbox now ya'll.  But not before sayin' that I love ya!

Enjoy!
