Learning to Ride!

This week, I got the opportunity to take the Basic Motorcycle Safety Course!

As a Soldier, I have to take this in order to ride a motorcycle.. and Washington State recognizes it so I wont have to take a test at the licensing office!  {bonus!}  And my unit paid for it! {extra bonus!}

The first day was beautiful outside as we learned braking, turning, and shifting skills.

I basically fell in love with riding!

Unfortunately, the second day was much, much wetter!!

We did some tight turns, quick stops, swerving and obstacles the second day!

Followed by a test of course {booo!}  which I passed {yay!}

Even with being soaking wet, and freezing cold, I still think it's pretty awesome..  who knows maybe I'll convince hubby to get me a bike of my own ;)

Sunshine Day!

It was so beautiful outside today!  I had to spend the morning at work doing a briefing.. which seemed to take forever but it's good officer development and leadership training etc..  My new commander wasn't there so I had to step up and take care of business.

I digress,  this afternoon I spent cleaning out the old townhouse (finally) and making sure everything was good for turning in the keys.  Picked up the mail while I was there too and our wedding portrait canvases were there!  I'll take some pictures after I find a home for them here at the homestead.  They are *amazing*!!

I even got to spend some time outside playing with Lucy today!  She is so excited about having her own little space to play and run and jump.

Bears Vs. Packers 2011 Playoffs

Well, today was the big play off game between the Packers and the Bears.  If you don't already know, Hubby and I have a strong rivalry when it comes to football.  It's the spice that make fall have that extra snap around the house :)

The Packers ended up winning 21-14.  The Bears went through three quarterbacks in the course of the game; third-string QB Hanie left me wondering why the heck we haven't been playing him all year!  He helped put the Bears on the Board and got us within seven points of the Packers. But it just wasn't enough to make up for the waste of the first three quarters...  but I still <3 my Bears.

There was a whole lot of trash talkin' at the Roadhouse; I was the only Bears fan there!  Oh well.  Hubby's team is going to the Superbowl in two weeks!  I will always be loyal to the Bears, so its cheering the Steelers on for me!!  :)

Bowl-a-rama!

This weekend was both relaxing and fun!  I was supposed to leave for California today to support my unit during their training rotation, but I was delayed due to some.. technical difficulties with the travel office.  Jeremiah and I made the most of the weekend though.  Friday night we went out to Red Lobster with the gang and then went out to Emerald Queen to play roulette.  We won a lot!  And then lost it all again lol.  It was fun getting to play though.

Saturday was spent sleeping in and relaxing around the house.  Got a lot of laundry done and caught up on some projects around the house too.

Today we went bowling on Ft Lewis.  It was fun getting out our bowling balls and shaking the rust out of our bowling skills.  We played four games, and Jeremiah won three of them.  It was close though.  I hope we get to join a league in the spring, but I think Jeremiah's training schedule will probably get in the way.

Sick Day Staples...

I have been a prisoner in my house for the past two days... I hate being sick.  Especially when there is so much to do!  But thankfully there are some standard staples that get me through it...  First off, Ben & Jerry's ice cream.  Definitely not the healthiest choice when fighting off sickness, but oh so delicious!  Second, the Pebble and the Penguin.  Jeremiah and I watched this movie the night before he purposed to me last winter.  It is such a cute movie and it helps me feel like a little kid home from school.

What a Week!

Oh wow!  This week has been so long!  It has been mostly filled with work.  A lot of things that were up in the air at work have all been sorted out, so not me and my detachment commander can move forward with plans for our deploying crew.  There were plenty of staff meetings and conference calls too keep my work days filled up.

I love being able to come home to Jeremiah every night.  We have a relatively boring little life together, but that is what I love about it.  I know I can walk in the door, take off my boots, and relax with my one and only!  I actually did try some new recipes this week so I am branching out in the kitchen.  I made Spaghetti Squash for the first time and it was super yummy.  If you haven't made it before, then definitely try it because it is very easy to make and delicious!

On Thursday I went to a Change of Command ceremony for Jeremiah's Battalion.  It was totally bizarre to be there in uniform, but I was coming right from work and then going right back.  Some of the guys recognized me from the dining in last weekend and came up to talk before the ceremony started.  Jeremiah was already in formation, so I didn't get to see him right away.

After the ceremony Jeremiah and I got to go to lunch together, which never happens so I was excited!  We are hardly ever in uniform at the same time, so I had to make sure to get a picture :)  Jeremiah does have a goofy kind of smile on his face though hehe

I am supposed to work all weekend, but right now I am trapped at home sick.  I am hoping that it will pass soon enough and I can get back to taking care of business.

For the Win!

Whippie!  The Bears won last night against the Packers!  I took a break from the wedding planning chaos to spend some much needed quality time with my amazing man.  We went to BJ's Brewhouse to watch our rival teams play.  The food was sooo yummy, and best of all Loser paid, so I got a night out on the town courtesy of Jeremiah.  :)  

Today I was able to wake up early and go for a run before starting my busy day.  Things are really getting busy at work with the deployment coming up!  I have some really great NCO's in my unit and they have been really great about pulling together and getting things done.  We do have to work this weekend which is rough, but next weekend my Dad is coming to visit!  So much to do!
